Here we explain how you can manage employees in ID VisitControl and edit their rights.

In the overview of employees you can already see the associated rights for the most important areas at a quick look.

We'll try to cover a few of the attributes here.

Department

The assignment of a department has three important functions:

  • Only employees who belong to a department can also be selected as "employees to be visited". If an employee is not found/listed in the search of the employees to be visited, a department was usually forgotten to be defined.

  • Besides the phone number, the department is one of two pieces of information displayed when selecting the employee to visit.

  • Furthermore, the department still plays an effect when using the "Additional module - Assistance" to enable the authorization to see upcoming visitors within a department

Gates

The selection of the gate for an employee is only for pre-selection during the registration and pre-registration of visitors and is meant to improve the usability.

Pool

Similar to the department, the pool plays a special role through the use of the "additional module assistance".

LDAP Sync

The LDAP Sync checks the user with the LDAP directory and pulls the access data (user name & password) from the LDAP. This locks e.g. the password assignment in the ID VisitControl.

Admin

If you activate the checkbox for the admin, this user will have full rights to access the administration of ID VisitControl.

Empfang, Intranet, Kiosk

Enable in which module areas the user can log in.

Excel Export

In the visit list of the reception module, it is possible to export the search result as a CSV file. A user with the rights to do this will also see an "Export Excel" button. All entries in the table, even after a search, are then exported to a file.

If the button is not visible, it may have to be made visible separately via the mask configuration in the administration.

Select deputy

For the deputy, please read our separate tutorial on "Manage deputies".

Daily login to the kiosk system can be simplified by logging in via UUID with just one link.

The following settings are necessary for this:

  • A gate must be defined at which the device should always log on.

  • The user must be a login user

  • The kiosk must be activated for the user

  • The Kiosk option also makes the Kiosk UUID option appear. If this is activated, you can copy the adjacent link. We need this link afterwards.

Do not forget to save the changes for the user.

Create a new bookmark on the device for the kiosk.
This bookmark will then be composed of your system URL and this link mentioned above.

Example of your URL to the kiosk: Serveraddress/M1/IDVisitControl_Kiosk/

Example UUID: /account/UUIDLogin?uuid=ABCDE…….

Composite link:

Serveraddress/M1/IDVisitControl_Kiosk/account/UUIDLogin?uuid=ABCDE…….

The following settings are necessary for this:

  • A gate must be defined at which the unit should always log on.

  • The user must be a login user

  • Empfang must be activated for the user

  • The UPAD UUID option also makes the link next to it appear. We need this link afterwards.

Do not forget to save the changes for the user.

Create a new bookmark on the signature pad device.
This bookmark will then be composed of your system URL and this link mentioned above.
